Caliber 30 Security problem. Hi, I have crashed my Caliber 30 due a construction error of the model. The Mast Stopper (CA3035) it's very fragil and slipery. It slides down the Mast with great easiness. It does not have any screw in direct contact with the main mast, and besides the mast itself is smooth. When the Mast stopper slides make the Main gear to go up and brake all the body of the Helicopter, including the Clutch lining and the side frames. Be very carefull with this machines. I dissuade everyone of buying one of this "babys". Vinny

Re: Caliber 30 Security problem. I advise you to change that part for a safer one as fast as possible. If i was keep the Heli, what i am not, i would make a stronger Mast sptopper like the one that comes in nexus !

Re: Caliber 30 Security problem. are you talking about the alloy ring at the top of the mast below the top bearing?

Re: Caliber 30 Security problem. Precisely. Pray for it never slides down. It happens to me at 60 ft up in the air. I think you can imagine the result. The Main Gear came up and crack the entire body of the Heli including the Clutch and the clutch lining. The shock on the floor break the remain.

Re: Caliber 30 Security problem. I assure you that it was tight. I even glue the bolt, but when i start to make more agressive manovers it doesn't hold !

| Re: Caliber 30 Security problem. I am not very happy that you have come in here and said this about the caliber mast stopper. However it is a issue that has been mensioned and that is easily remideed with the builder having some knowledge of what he is doing. There are grub screws that fit to the caliber mast and I have had no problems with mine. I would doubt that your an experienced builder and that you are making an error in your build. Lots of the guys I fly with have all said that this sounds more like a builder error due to the fact that it seems to only occure rearly. I do however have a fix if your not capble of useing the caliber part. The TT30 / 50 mast stopper is compatable and is a lot stronger than the caliber standard part. I would recommend that people stay back from your heli's because the builder has issues. Not the heli's fault at all.
