Re: fed up with crowds!

I hear ya,
I've had the beast 2 weeks now, and not quite off the ground yet. Sustained hover for about 15 secs yesterday, but too windy and thumbs are way too heavy yet.
Can't play indoors on accounta the little cat wants to chew on it when it's not running. Can't imagine what she'd do if it were...

Re: fed up with crowds!

Shed prolly do the same thing my beagle does, chase it around and start trying to knock it out of the air, not a good thing for a BCX, really hate to think what would happen once my Swift is up and running.

exactly!
Better to trash the helo than hurt the pet. Helo's replaceable...

Re: fed up with crowds!

Yeah, but maybe getting hit by a blade at extremely low speeds would teach a pet not to mess with the heli anymore. The sound of my BCX's motors revin up scares my cat away when he gets near it, hes never even been hit by it.

Re: fed up with crowds!

Oh and just to add something to do about fed up with crouds, flying in a campground full of, no offense to anyone, hill billies, is not a good idea, first you got little kids wantin to treat it as a toy, then you got some person lacking any brains at all in a truck parking right beside where you're flying and askin about it. Start talking and even a BCX can be dangerous while flying, bout hit my face while I wasnt paying attention. At least older people (50+) have the common sense to not come near a 14 yr old flyin an rc heli.

Cool Re: fed up with crowds!

After having a my "Near Death By Helicopter" I invited a friend out to watch and told him to stay behind me. I told him about my experience before we left his house.... I turned to talk to him and he was 150 feet back and behind a back stop. I did finely convince him to come closer and take pictures, some are posted with my profile.
I get some kid's attention but not as much as I had years ago. I think the reason stems from being raised on video games.
When at the flying field I am the only one with the heli... Its like walking the beach and find a beautiful blond with no swim suit and no one even looks. A lot of pilots tell me that they have no intrest in heli's at all.

Re: fed up with crowds!

ok so i haven't even got my first heli yet and ive been told twister bell 47 are the ones to get for learning but even so i would never be stupid enough to get in the way of people flyin the copters, but i suppose living in a village helps me to be more alert to stuff and people in citys or towns tend to be more nosey, no offence to anyone
ps.
im going to be askin alot of questions round here so i hope none of you mind and appreciate and advice you can give me.
