Re: Patience! Damned close call!

Hey TwistedTim,
You learned to fly without a sim? Good for you mate! Justin Chi learned on his own with a sim (fixedwing) and flew the pants off the boys at the field. Justin was 36 months old at the time.

Talking Re: Patience! Damned close call!

Today I'm meeting a friend to go flying. Yesterday was a beautiful day and the heli is primed and itching to leave the nest! The camera mount is ready and I couldn't sleep well thinking of the little last minute things to do.. At 6 this morning I saw a heavy frost on the ground but saw the sky was overcast. I pondered this thought and thought "Naw" not snow! As I tipe this (8:20 am) it's in fact snowing.... hard! Now it's large flakes.... $#%#@ (sp)
Patience! or possible Damned close call? Well I still need to meet with my friend and pick up some things.. Very disk-custed U no !!!!
I'll take my chances watch my friend land his plane in a tree.. (he did that last time and got it on video ) The heli can stay in the car for another day.

Thumbs up Re: Patience! Damned close call!

Hi, was wondering if you had a simulator to practice forward flight? or anyone who can lend you football gear... It would be in your best intrests to learn forward flight with an airplane as the flight envelopes are quite close.
The other way to practice up to forward flight is to enter a hover and then practice turning the heli to the right side and hold it. Once comfortable turn to the left. Once comfortagble then try flying forward slowly, if at anytime you start to panic just turn to a tail-in hover.
I've been down with engine problems. I replaced the OS 46 with an Evolution 52NX and then that engine went south... or I should say east. The 46 went back for warrenty and they said they will give a great deal on the Hyper 50. Only to find out they are backordered till mid Aug. The Evo I don't know anything yet.
I ordered an electric Predator UAV with camera for the meantime.
Hope this helps.
Jim

Re: Patience! Damned close call!

I was hovering my CPP and out of the blue it just came at me, I tried to stop it with my hand (Plastic blades) and when it smacked my thumb .... well I had a broke thumb CPP had just a bent main shaft.

my thumb was purple for over a week....
