Hi

The PG01 is a good low price gyro... I used the PG03 on my heli for years with no problems at all. It is very easy to set up, You plug it into slot number 4 on your receiver and plug your rudder servo into the gyro and as long as your receiver is not reversed then when you pick up your heli and rotate it to the right the tail blades should turn to apply thrust to the left.the tail control bar/wire should move back. Turn the heli to the left and the opposite should work.

If the channel is reversed then the tail will hard over and not respond properly.

When the heli is flying if the tail wags, this is due to the gain being to high on the gyro. if the tail drifts (turns) slowly then you need to increase the gain to hold the tail.

Hope this helps,
Darren.

Hi Brian,

I left out a very important peice of information that I asumed you would know but just on the off chance you dont.
If you try and fly your heli with the gyro on, Set the way we discussed and you find that it still turns to either direction on its own but steady. this is normally a sign that your trim is out on the setup of the tail servo.

You will need to adjust the trim on your radio to stop the movement then land or if not off the ground shut off. Make sure the heli rotors have stoped and the power is left on. Then look at the servo horn postion on the tail servo, Take the servo horn off but try not to adjust the tail/move the horn position.
Then re,centre the radio trim, This done put the servo horn back on in the same possition as you took it off. now your heli should fly and hold the tail more stable. If it drifts again but more slowly now, Then adjust your trim again if it is a big adjustment then do the same as before. If it is only a small amount of trim then you can adjust the gyro sensitvity to cut this out. If the heli tail wags. Then the gain is too high. just turn it down in very small amounts til it stops wagging and hold the tail steady. This has to be done in normal mode for those with heading hold gyro's.

Regards again
Darren
