Thumbs up HowTO - setup Honey Bee King2 & Futaba 6EX

HowTO – setup HBKing2 and Futaba 6EX
04/08/08
Honey Bee King II
Futaba 6EX with its receiver (R606FS)

I suggest you download the Honey Bee King II instruction manual from the Esky home page. You will find it under the “downloads” button.
http://www.twf-sz.com/english/index.asp

1/ How to plug the cables

They need to be all white side (signal) on the side of the antenna like a Futaba servo.
Channel 1: The servo on the right side when you face the heli (from the front)
Channel 2: The front servo
Channel 3: The ESC
Channel 4: The Gyro
Channel 5: The sensitivity cable of the Gyro (head lock pro only)
Channel 6: The servo on the left when you face the heli (from the front)

Unplug the heli motor power cable from escape (motor controller) to prevent accidental motor start during this setup routine.

Turn on transmitter and plug in Lipo battery to heli to activate receiver and servos. remove servo arms and set them to 90 degree position on the servo and replace servo screws.

Adjust the servo push rods to make swash plate level (at 90 degrees to main drive shaft). You now can turn heli OFF.

2/setup of the remote:
****I am using mode 2****
You need to set model type to heli - H

Reverse (REVR):
1: reverse
2: reverse
3: reverse
4: normal
5: normal
6: normal

=>now everything works except that the forward/reverse way is still inversed, this is normal up to now

Dual Rate (D/R)
1: 100%
2: 100%
4: 100%
Expo:
1: 0%
2: 0%
4: 0%

EPA:
1: 100%
2: 100%
3: 100%
4: 100%
5: 100%
6: 100%

Trim: all to 0

Normal Throttle (N-TH):
1:0
2:25
3:50
4:75
5:100

Normal Pitch (N-PI):
1: 0
2: 25
3: 50
4: 75
5: 100

Swash plate (SWSH) **most important part**
A: -40%
E: -40%
P: +20%
mode: 3-S (critical part)

Now you need to adjust (lengthen) the “push links” (short metal rods with plastic ball sockets on ends as seen on page 25 of Esky Honey Bee King II Instruction manual – item #014) to set the pitch at low throttle to 0 degrees, mid throttle to 6 degrees, and full throttle to 11 degrees.
Luck,
Vince

Re: HowTO - setup Honey Bee King2 & Futaba 6EX

Hi, cool i have just gone through this proccess a few weeks ago, was like french at first but soon fell into place. ! thing i think you've missed, or i'm blind.
Is
DON'T attach the swash push rods while mixing the ccpm as the servos may force against each other while setting up and blow them.
I was given that info by the guy i got my Mini T off, otherwise i would of come straight back home turned it all on and without the ccpm setup done i would naffed the swash servos.
By.
Great Tut dude as it is daunting setting up ccpm for first time.
