Which ONE!

Hello all-

Well ive got a choice--

Either a BELT CP RTF --or-- BELT CP ARTF that is cheaper and comes with everything exept the transmitter- the upside is its got Aluminium Rotor head and carbon frame-

So if i do get that one- whats a Cheap, basic 6ch rc helicopter transmitter-

Thanks guys- and could u include the price??

Re: Which ONE!

I think that in the long run you will be much happier with the ARF. The cheap radios that come with the RTF are limited at best if they work at all. You can get a new Futaba 6ex or a Spectrum or even a used radio off of ebay like I did. I purchased an older Futaba computer radio off of ebay for $75 and love it.
In the long run though get the best radio you can afford as it can grow as you do. You may need more channels and features as time passes and a really good radio can do many more things like throttle curves and pitch rates that come in handy as you add more models and capabilities to you flying.

Re: Which ONE!

Hi Tim, its a sensible move getting a good radio. The package deals that include the cheap radios are ok...if you want a cheap experience...not thats a bad thing but if you are convinced the hobby is for you then buying good kit is important.

The only deals I would buy...by the way...are the various Trex deals...the Trex is a good small electric heli...it out punches any other heli of its class...there are other helis of the same size that can perform...but you woukld pay that bit more for them.

I have heard good things about the Belt CP, seems a good buy.

I would get the best gyro you can get too...the GY401 is pretty darn nice...though there are other good ones about. Make sure to get a decent charger for the batterys though...it makes a huge difference...charge times are quicker. Be careful of buying a charger where you get to adjust too much though...LiPo's can get very nasty and cause a fire...do bear this in mind. Otherwise they are perfectly ok.

Have fun

Rob

Re: Which ONE!

You can always get the experience with the Belt CP and upgrade to a Trex later on. The Rex I have is the 450 XL HDE, for such a heli of its size it performs VERY well. Should have bought this a long time ago.

Make sure the radio you get can cope with helis...radios that do this are getting common place now...but there are versions that cant be used with helis....if in doubt post here and tell us what it is you are looking at....people here are generally very helpful.
