| Brushless Speed Controller Question I want to upgrade my HoneyBee King 2 to a brushless motor since the brushed one only lasted a couple hours. I ordered the upgrade kit which included the speed controller and motor. The speed controller has the plug to the receiver and the 3 leads to the motor but where I should have the battery plug there is thick + & - leads on a plug I have never seen. Is there an adapter or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Re: Brushless Speed Controller Question I would guess that you have a Deans plug there. They have become the standard high amp plug in the hobby. If your battery has a different plug you can change it but make sure that your battery can supply enough amperage to power you new motor or you will have problems.

| Re: Brushless Speed Controller Question Thanks for the info! I found some places to get the deans plugs. So do you think I can run an EK5-0004 3100RPM/V with an 11.1v 1000 mah 10c lipo? The wires on the lipo are only about half as thick as the speed controller. If not, what lipo do I need? |

| Re: Brushless Speed Controller Question That is only a 10 amp battery and you probably need around twice that but I don't know what that motor requires for sure. Most of the upgrade motors need around twenty amps and the ones I use are 25 amp. I currently use 2200 mah 18c batteries but that is probbly more than you need.

| Re: Brushless Speed Controller Question Wow dude!! I made an adapter to take the deans plug down to the original King 2 battery plug by using the female battery plug from a dead receiver and a female deans plug. It works better the the original set up. I got 9.5 minutes of continues hovering. I will need much bigger mah for 3d stuff if i ever get thet good but at least I can get some practice with my old batteries. Thanks again for your help.... |

| Re: Brushless Speed Controller Question That's great! Just watch the battery temperature.
