Re: Futaba T7CAP/CHP

I have the same radio but mine is Mode 2 which is the better one.

I am not sure if you can alter this radio from one mode to the other.

You be just as well contacting a Futaba dealer in the US to find out.

Did you get a manual for this radio? if you have one then read it through and keep it handy. This radio is easy to use, very user friendly once you get the hang of the dial/button idea.

Re: Futaba T7CAP/CHP

Just been checking my radio out...dug the manual out too

OK...you can change modes

with the radio OFF

press down MODE and END buttons...keep them pressed

Turn the radio ON

you should get a submenu with the mode options...use the silver button...just rotate this and the mode will change its number...dial in 2 and you should be ok...switch OFF the radio and you should be good to go.

The mechanical changes are made by removing the cover and swopping things about...I have never had to do this so mind how you go.

check out

www.futaba-rc.com\faq\7c-faq.html this should give you a manual if yours is written in Japanese.

I take it the Reciever is the same as the commonly used ones.

If so

Channels:

1=aileron/roll
2=elevator/pitch
3=throttle
4=rudder/tail rotor
5=spare/gyro remote gain
6=collective pitch(up and down in other words...main rotor pitch)
7=spare/throttle governor device/undercarraige if you have a scale machine requiring such a thing.

Its a darn good radio system...I really like mine. I want to upgrade to 2.4ghz If only Futaba would make this same radio with 2.4 ghz I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Let me know how you get on.

Shuttle Plus 2 eh? that will be a good heli you have there...quality made parts...ideal heli to learn with...its 30 sized isnt it? handy size.

Do you have a Simulator to learn on...assuming you are learning?

Re: Futaba T7CAP/CHP

Thanks a whole lot hawkman, i happy to see someone reply to my post. U gave me useful info, i will check it out, currently on lunch break now. Yeah, my instruction is in Japanese. If i knew i would ask the guy to offer me mode 2 instead of mode 1. It seems like everyone is using Mode 2 for their helis, especially my Sim g3.5 is control is in mode 2, so if i practice on my simulator, there is no way im gonna use that on my Futaba Mode 1. There is this one function in the radio where u can change from mode 1 to mode 2, I did but it made no differ. Can u please find that out and let me know, i cant read Japanese. My last resort is to open up the Radio and switch things around, meaning i have to do some re modify inside the radio, what do u think of that? I got the Hirobo Shuttle + 2 with the Futaba as a gift. And i dont want to upset the person who gave me this. Too expensive to buy another controller as good as this one. Since u have the same radio as mine, can u tell me what are them toggle switch do? The A, B, D, E H, G, VR Knob do? Im clueless. Thanks, here are some pix of my Radio.

Re: Futaba T7CAP/CHP

Ok, you got to take the thing apart to swop the components around, the RIGHT stick should be self centering..this is the 'cyclic' stick...so when you push forwards the heli goes forwards..and if you go right the heli goes right...this stick will control the rotor blades or the 'disc' (thats what it looks like when its running)

The LEFT stick will be the collective (up and down for the heli) and left/right will be the tail rotor control...note: when you push left the helis NOSE goes left etc etc.

Sorry about the instructions being in such a hard language...but dont despair. I will try to copy some of mine if you want...and post them up.

Its not a bad radio when you get the hang of it.

Dont get impatient with it...just ask the questions when you are ready to do the setup for real. Use that simulator....they are the best thing ever to get you used to how these things fly.

Re: Futaba T7CAP/CHP

yp, it is a good Radio. I got mine switch to Mode 2 now, and all i got to do now is make the Right stick center when left alone, then make the left stick sticks to it desire position for throttle. Thanks once again.
