6EXHP and Eflite 4 in 1's

Hi folks,
Just traded a coaxial for a 6EXHP and had heard that one could program the TX to Eflites 4 in 1 in the blade CP. Any truth to that or should I be using the R127DF RX that came with it.
I took the crystal out of the Stock eflite Tx and put it in the Futaba TX and was able to move servos around and such but am so new to RC stuff that wasn't able to accomplish much. I unhooked both motors for obvious safety reasons. Is there a way to get these to coexist and maybe tame down my CP a little? Anyone have some settings for a total n00b?

I wouldnt use other crystals in the Futaba TX....its not worth the risks involved...the Futaba is a 'proper' radio....the e flite is ok for what its meant for...small cheap electric helis.

The Futaba would be better suited with its proper crystals and RX....you might then have to invest in a gyro...but I dont know the Blade CP...

Re: 6EXHP and Eflite 4 in 1's

I have used negative shift crystals in my Futaba TX and receiver and got on fine. I have changed them to futaba single conversion crystals but have flown fine with it as standard.

As long as you have your radio set to PPM signal and you have the channels sorted correctly useing the trims to set the heli better helps with control a lot.
I found there was a big difference in my ability to control 4 channel heli's on my futaba radio over the standard tx. Though the better the quality of the 4 channel heli the better the flight control.

Re: 6EXHP and Eflite 4 in 1's

Thanks Daz for the words of encouragement, The Blade Cp is only a learning curve on the way to the TREX kit I am buying later this week. I have successfully managed to hover the Blade in a small space (11' x 13') with the stock TX.... I am trying to get ready for my first full summer of outdoor flying.
I just wanted to get a "jump" on the programmable radio with this cheaper heli before investing $100 per crashes.
My biggest hurdle right now is trying to get the ELE channel working properly, I reverse it and It seems confused and changes to The front servo going down with forward stick and one of the rear servos going up and the other rear servo going down. In normal mode it goes oppisite of the stick. Forward stick results in front servo goin up and rear servos going down (tilting swashplate to the rear of the heli) Does that suggest I need to change servo connections on the 4 in 1? Or would that creat issues with the airleron settings? I know..grasping at straws here....but trying to stay on budget for the future stuff.

Re: 6EXHP and Eflite 4 in 1's

Hi

It sounds to me like you have a 120 degree swash with the elevator servo toward the front of the swash. You then have the other 2 servos pitch and aileron to either side rear of the swash. or at least this is how I would have it.

You need the left and right function tilting the swash left and right and then you need forward and backward on the elevator to move the swash forward and back.
Right stick forward swash tilts to the front. rear, swash tilts rearward. As long as your left and right do the same you should be good to go.
You should make sure that you have the right swash settup in the radio, You should then be good to go.

By the sound of it your nearly there.

Re: 6EXHP and Eflite 4 in 1's

Yes Daz, Is a 120 degree swash with ccpm. It was the swash settings in the radio, The pitch servo setting needed to be the oppisite of the other two (A- +75% E- +75% P- -75%)
Is there a place to find some settings that anyone has used to get thier radio set up? The menus are a bit daunting for a n00b to figure out. I tried the Futaba site in thier FAQ's section but seems there isn't any support for the 6EXH in the FAQ's part.
Been searching forums for any posts that have all their settings mapped out as a good base start point for a 300 size heli with ccpm. Anyone seen any out there?
Thanks again Daz, will try to keep you posted on my progress (baby steps) and if I ever get it dialed in will post what settings I used in the TX menus.
