Dodgy servo

my tail rotor servo has started making a really strange jittering noise and no longer seems to have the travel it once had. It's only been flown once, and was brand new before that. It makes the noise even if i take the servo horn off it.

has anyone else had a similar problem, is it knackered?

if its a digital servo they do make noise when they move
even if you remove the horn its still pluged in the gyro
so anny movement the heli makes the gyro will sense this
and try to corect.if its a avcs gyro they constantly send a signal and when ypou place it in a certain possition it can hunt back to its original place but only on the table once its in the air it should not do this annymore.
not sure about youre travel prob did you do anny adjustments at the field when you were there if not have you flown it again to see if there was a diff other than the noise it makes.when you move youre tail rotor stick does it respond o.k

i've even plugged the thing straight into the receiver and it still makes the noise even without any inputs.

it responds OK, but the tail rotor travel seems to be a bit low and the jittering makes the tail rotor vibrate even when it's stationary.

it could be a bad servo seen that as well
are you lucky enough to have a shop near your place
to have it checked out?
if not ....is this a digital servo? try to switch the servo with a diff one to see if you have youre full travel and the jittering stops
jittering is sometimes linked to bad pots on the servo

i've spoken to the guy at a local shop, and he says he'll take a look at it despite the fact it didn't come from him.

I think it's broken as it's just not behaving like it was before.
