Futaba 6DA question.....

Hello all....I'm a total newbie to this exciting hobby but have always had an interest and now am wading in.....lol

I recently purchased a Futaba 6DA tx to use with a simulator as a starting point (trainer) before actually flying a heli. Next, I ordered a USB sim cable from Tom's RC Sim's on Ebay. (He includes FMS software with the cable)
Problem is, I'm not getting any signal whatsoever from the tx (checked it using Tom's testing utility) and now am wondering if maybe the transmitter is not working properly. Or maybe the cable is defective.

Is there some way to check out the transmitter without having rx/ servos etc. to see if it is even working?

slightly depressed....

Tim

Re: Futaba 6DA question.....

if you take it to a Local hobby store they should be able to test it for you.

i have a realflight simulator and i couldnt get the TX to work with FMS but it works fine with my piccolo sim.

Thanks for the advice! Next trip to the big city and I'll get it checked out.
