Question Am I Missing Somthing...?

Hi, Im new to all this so I decided to follow the advice given and start out using a simulator. Reflex XTR looked quite cool so that was the one I went with.

Several posts in this forum state that with a well balanced helicopter, you should be able to hover "Hands Off" at least for a few seconds. With my version of XTR, the second the simulator starts, the helicopter is off on a wild ride, initially to the left and rear (Hover Training Mode). Am I missing somthing here or am I just complete rubbish...?

My radio is a JR XP352 if that is any help.

Many thanks.... Steve...

nope thats pretty well what the real thing is like, reflex I have found to be a bit harder to control than the real thing but yes just like you I had trouble controlling the chopper in training keep trying and you will get it!!!! the thing with training is you have to "think" what its going to do and correct BEFORE it happens and over time you will understand what I mean...what its all about is training the nerve pathways and your brain to respond without thinking much like playing a musical instrument

Re: Am I Missing Somthing...?

The models in the reflex sim are set to be a bit more twitchy than the real thing, If you look at the model params and the sim params you will find that things like servo linkage play can be adjusted to cut out some of this and also that taking the wind speed down to 0 will go a long way to helping you with early stage control.
As with real heli's if it is being flown in a slight breeze the heli will drift. You will always need to put inputs through to the heli. The more you can play with settings in this sim and learn what they do the more you can tune it to match your heli.

A good starter for pactacing you control in the beginning is the 3D E-NT. You can find this under the Hiensliet Helicopters. Sorry about the spelling. its near the top of the heli models list.

Hope this helps some,
Regards
