Re: Which simulators work with a joystick input? I would go for a Trex if I had a (much)higher budget, and I would get a decent transmitter as well to use with all helis/planes I get in the future. Actually I'd probably buy a Raptor, coz they're cool, but from what I've heard and seen Trex's are pretty damn good electric helis. Didn't fly my 4ch drag today because I couldn't be arsed to fix the tail rotor as the new parts will need a bit of modding to make them fit properly. Still flying the sim though, you can never be too prepared.

Re: Which simulators work with a joystick input? The rule of thumb for me is this: If an average crash costs about one third the airframe cost, can you afford it? The 450 XL trex cost about 85 quid for the basic kit...minus radio etc in other words. So a crash could cost about 30 quid to fix...maybe more...maybe less. Thats the rule I use. To be honest I would get a Nitro powered heli. You get loads more airtime with one of these. I hear that Raptors are good value for money. Rob

Re: Which simulators work with a joystick input? I saw a raptor crash while at a flying weekend, it was pretty spectacular and cost the owner around £120 to repair, and was a result of mechanical/electrical failure not pilot incompetence. I think there are also less things to go wrong with electric helis.

Re: Which simulators work with a joystick input? Yeah? Well I had a crash a while back that cost me about £350....the heli (Century Predator gasser) is almost ready for a test flight now...but I must admit to being a bit reluctant to try her out ![]() Rob

Re: Which simulators work with a joystick input? I've taken out my dragonfly a couple of times now with the new mode 2 setup and I have to say, the simulator has taught me a lot. I have flown circuits for the first as well as nose in hovering. My heli is letting me down though, as sometimes when flying at speed it wobbles all over the place and nearly out of control. What else can you expect from a cheap heli? I've decided on the esky belt cp to be my dragonfly's successor, and will be able to test my newly gained skills from simulator practice to the limit! ![]()
