USB Adapter Just got a game port adapter for the transmitter. Everytime I plug it into the laptop, the system shows the device is present, then it dissappears. It keeps doing this as long as it is plugged in. If you go into control panel, system, Hardware, and the device manager, you can watch HID (human interface device) appear then dissappear. If I take the unit and plug it into the USB ports on the front of my desktop computer, it registers a G3 controller and in control panel, under system, it shows as HID human interface device with about 5 different entries. In control panel it also shows in game controllers as a RealFlight G3 controller. Anybody possibly have an ideas as why it won't show on the laptop. Both the laptop and desktop are running current XP (all updates) and both have over 1 gig of ram and the laptop is 1.6ghz and desktop 1.2 ghz.

Re: USB Adapter If the interface draws power from the USB port its possible the laptops port cannot supply the required current. Thats not unusual because the nature of laptops. On my laptop I use a powered USB Hub and that works where the interface does not work if plugged in directly.

Re: USB Adapter I do have an external drive that to get extra power, it occupies 2 ports. But it didn't make a difference either. Going to try some of your advise and grab the powered 2.0 hub and try using it on the laptop to see what happens. I'll defiantly post a result

Re: USB Adapter Mine still seems to be finicky. Sometimes I have to plug and unplug it a couple of times. Once its going though it works good. Not sure what the issue is.

Re: USB Adapter The powered hub didn't make any difference. But on the desktop everything is now working to the point of it identifying the radio as being there. Even starting RealFlight G3.5 , it shows as there being a controller but the controller doesn't respond. Even tried in the calibration settings for any joysticks, and it shows as being there. Just no response. Currently I'm trying to use the Tactic radio that came with the Heli-Max AXE EZ. I have a Walkera 60B coming and if I'm lucky enough to have the right adapter, I'll try with that transmitter. And thanks for the replies, maybe with some luck I'll get this thing going.

| Re: USB Adapter You might need to reload the driver if one is supplied....I had this problem with FMS and another sim called Easyfly.....the interface would plug in ok and be present on the game controller screen but would refuse to work.....reloading the driver that came with the interface usually did the trick. | Re: USB Adapter It's a third party USB Adapter from the wonder full country of You Buy it...You stuck with it . Thats right China. If you see in some of the post further up, it sounds like it might be a power problem, cause on the desktop Windows XP can see the device but not on the laptop. I'm now at the point of the adapter actually seeing the transmitter. Once thats accomplished, I'll have a fully working Flight Sim. My son has a JR transmitter and he hopes to drop by with it so we can see if that fixes things, cause the current transmitter is a TACTIC 4 channel (supplied with Heli-Max AXE EZ) But thanks for the though. | Re: USB Adapter A couple of other things you might want to check. 1: The interface I have only supports PPM mode. My transmitter has both PCM and PPM(FM) so I have to switch the transmitter to PPM before the interface works. 2: You might want to unplug any other USB devices while you try to bring up the interface. Supposedly sometimes that helps. |
