| Hi, I'm new to Helicopters (unless you count the PiccoZ) but I'm pretty familiar with RC. I downloaded the FMS simulator, and I got to where I could do inverted hovers and loops and such, but I think I'm setting myself up for disaster. Could someone tell me what keys go with what control? So, if the left stick was WASD and the right stick was the Up/Down/Left/Right arrows, which controls should be activated by which keys? Also, I read that Mode 2 is for USA, is that right? Thanks for the help. Josh |

| Re: Mode 2 Stick Mapping for FMS? Hello, I have some really bad news for you. You can not learn to fly the helicopter off the Keyboard controls. You will need to use a radio control unit/Dummy controller. It is essential to learn with the controller as it is completely different. I have seen so many people years ago learn on the Keyboard and think that they could do it for real only to crash and wonder why they could not fly. I would recommend buying a good simulator with a dummy transmitter and learn useing this, OR buy yourself a real transmitter and then get a good simulator to learn off. sorry to give you the bad news. ![]() Mode 2 is used by myself here in the UK, It is down to what your preference is as to what mode you go with. Mode 1 left stick is the rudder and elevator, Right stick is throttle/pitch and aileron. Mode 2 Left stick is rudder and throttle/Pitch, Right stick is elevator and aileron.

| Re: Mode 2 Stick Mapping for FMS? Hmm... I downloaded the demo for Real Flight G3, it's pretty nice, but it seems like overkill. I don't have a huge budget, so I can't really afford to buy a $200 simulator. However, I do play videogames, so my thumbs are pretty coordinated. I think I'll get a USB adapter for my controller as I'm saving up for my heli. By the way, thanks a lot for the help w/ the stick mapping |
