pre-flight sim..Bell V Raptor HI, I have been playing with the pre-flight sim for a few weeks now. Although I am using joystick + keys, can anyone tell me if the following info is correct.......When I fly the BELL 430-60 scale, I find it quite easy, yet when I fly the Raptor it flips at the toss of a coin, bobbing about (ace for stunts). So tell me if this is true or bull? ![]()

Simulator for scalevnorm Hi, The natural flight of a scale heli is generaly more dosile and sedate due to the extra weight the heli carries. The differance therefore is generally correct through the simulators depending on how they are set up. The raptor as you mentioned would be very responsive in comparison. Hope this is what you were looking for. Regards, Daz.

better late than never:) Ok here goes. Your question was about a simulator, I already said that the raptor being programed in the simulator as a pod and boom would be lighter than a scale heli therefor it would react a lot faster. The raptor can be set up to fly 3d in reality and as simulators are teaching aids not games they need to carry the performance. Now to answer your question about why people say the raptor is a good heli to start with. This is because it can be set up to fly very gentle or to fly agressive manouvers. The parts are also very reasonably priced. This helps as when learning, you very often need replacement parts. It is allso a proven heli and reliable in the most part. With plenty of upgrade options it will last most flyers well into 3D flying. Remember a simulator can teach you to fly 3D. How you set the simulator to fly is up to you.
