| Phoenix flight sim I finally got my copy of Phoenix, its a fairly new sim and at a lower price than both Reflex and Realflight.
I ordered two cable to radio adaptors....both round and square type for the two futaba radios I use.
This sim is good.....just as good as Reflex which I have used before....I have used Realflight but not enough to really judge its performance.
For those on a budget...and are currently using FMS and are looking foe something better....I would say get Pheonix. You will not be dissapointed, the photorealism is great.....with some nice touches like the reflections of the heli canopys for example.
Reflex has a good feature in that it has 'no fly zones' ie if you fly your model into hazardous areas then you get these stripes suddenly appearing in the scene.....and you have to start the session again. Pheonix doesnt appear to have this.....which is a pity because its a useful discipline to have...which will help the learner to think ahead as he/she flys their model around in real life.
Pheonix has a good choice of models.....I like the Knight 50 and the fixed wing models?? hmmmm.....I love the turbine powered Hawk...its awsome!!!
There is a turbine heli....despite its title its a pussycat to fly....though with the options available you can soon tweak it up.
Out of the electric helis I like the Trex lookalike the best.
The trainer nitro helis are nicely toned down.....slow to respond but flyable all the same.
This sim gets the definate 'thumbs up' its got all the typical features of other more expensive sims....but at its price its a must buy.
Do make sure you order the cable adaptors though...they are a seperate item.
