Getting my transmitter to work with FSM

OK, now I'm in 7th heaven:

Free RC helicopter flight sim
Hirobo Shuttle add-on with excellent graphics

and now...

I am flying with my transmitter !!!

I'm using SmartPropo.
http://rcp.cside.tv/Rc_hp2/fms/Smart..._Manual_e.html

All I had to do was:

- Unzip the one file into the FSM install directory (same place as FSM.exe is found),

- and then connect the transmitter to the line-in socket on my soundcard (mic-in would also work)

- One other thing: Because I'm using Windows XP I had the known error message that winmm.dll (the name of the file you copy into the FMS directory) main could not be found. To fix this I uninstalled my modem from Device Manager (I use a cable modem, so didn't need any modem drivers).

I'm lucky in the fact that I'm using a JR set, which has a training output jack like the headphone socket on a Walkman. So I just had to dig out an old cable which would, e.g., connect a walkman to my mic-in socket on the soundcard (same standard jacks) and voila!

In my experience, I had to reduce to barely detectable the recording volume level in Windows Sound Recorder, otherwise FSM "heard" too much noise.

But I'm flying:-)

Oh yes: Strange, but I'm finding that although I became absolutely brilliant using my joystick, it *is* completely different using the transmitter. I thought it would be an easy transition: so be warned: don't become perfect at nose-in hovering with a joystick, and then go out with your real helicopter and expect it to be as easy. Try to get your transmitter working with FSM and practice with that.

Any questions, please post them.
