Serial not Parallel Port Hello everyone. New guy at the keyboard and the helicopter. Question: I have a Walkera R/C 4. Want to use the controller on my computer, but can't seem to get it to work. Went to PPJOY but their set up is for a parallel port, not the serial port, which is the plug from the controller. I bought a adapter from serial to USB. That doesn't work either. My computer is a Dell Dimension 4300 with windows XP. The choppter has already taken off twice in my house, had to smack it down second time to save my face. So you can see I need a simulator or my life may be in danger. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. xpostman

Re: Serial not Parallel Port Hi Expostman I seem to have the same faults here on my Compaq Pressario. I have no serial ports and bought a serial to USB adaptor. Can't get the blasted thing to work, or even recognise the Tx transmitter.

Re: Serial not Parallel Port I can join the ranks of those with a serial cable that can't make it work. I have a Walkera 22E. I have tried it on a 98 machine, but nothing. I'm going to try it on my xp laptop and will use PPJoy, but I'm not holding my breath...

| Re: Serial not Parallel Port When you plug in the usb to the computer, do you get a pop-up stating "new hardware found"???

Re: Serial not Parallel Port I have a Walkera Dragonfly 4 and also bought an RS232 (serial) to USB adaptor and I'm having the same trouble with mine. The problem isn't with the computer seeing the USB connection because it does. The problem is that the simulator software doesn't seem to be able to accept inputs from the transmitter through a USB port.

Re: Serial not Parallel Port some of the cables require that the power be on from the transmitter...did you try that?

Re: Serial not Parallel Port I gave up on the serial cable and bought the USB cable from Simbaster. It works flawlessly on my tablet and I now have something to do in my hotel room at night when I'm on the road on business....
