| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? Yes, I understand perfectly and your help was greatly appreciated. Since that clears some stuff up for me, I've been able to apply that knowledge to some concious choices in terms of setup. I've been working on the dominion90 and it's pretty hard but as you say, once learned it'll prove valuable. Cheers and thanks again, Mike |

| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? Make sure you calibrate your TX. Put your trim sliders in the center. Go up to top and click on controller and then click calibrate controller, then follow instructions. Trim the bird out first, before your trying to hover, raise the bird 3-4 feet off the ground, make sure your trims are neutral. don't use your cyclic (right stick) and see which way the bird moves. Probably to the left and forward. Go to your trim and put a couple of right clicks and backward clicks on the cyclic. Then try again and see if it moves less. Your trimming out the bird to get it as steady as possible for hover. When close, start using cyclic and give very easy inputs and bringing stick back to neutral. Then another input. Think of it as pushing the bird with the stick in the opposite direction that its drifting. The key is not slamming the stick back and forth. Short easy and quick inputs returning to neutral. Note( don't try trimming your real bird by letting go of cyclic, at least not while your learning.

| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? Do I calibrate the TX every time I switch helis? or just once? and when I do switch, should I make sure that the trims are centered before restarting and trimming them out? Thanks again as always, Mike |

| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? No, Ive only made an initial calibration, one time. When your trimming, if you use the same bird you shouldn't have to change the trims, unless you change the conditions (wind ,weight, etc). On a new bird, start at neutral, because its flight characteristics will be different.

| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? Sounds good. Can't wait to get home and try it tonight. Did you ever buy any add-ons? if so which ones and at what point, if any, would you recommend buying one. Cheers and thanks as always, Mike |

| Re: New Heli pilot - What G3 heli to train on? I got # 3 only because I fly Raptors and it had two in it. I wont get anymore, I just got G3 to practice 3D maneuvers and I still use the dominion .90. After you learn to hover learn forward flight before anything else. That way if it gets away and gains altitude you can get it back to hover. If you haven't flown planes try a couple in G3. The chopper will fly forward basically the same except you have to use both sticks in the turn. Good luck. By the way, your going to learn to hover with what you've got. Once you learn you can do any of them. You don't have to by other add ons unless you just want to play around.
