Heli fuel Ok First of all I'm asuming that you live in the UK. I aactualy travell 150miles to get the fuel for my heli. I visit a shop in Hinkley called Midland helicopters, They are the bees knees in my opinion and are very good at offering you advice if needed. All the fuels sold localy are castor based and I have had a few running problems with them. Also they genaraly sell 5%-10% where I wanted to run !5% synthetic mix. This is why I travel for mine. I have had no problems running and love to visit this shop. Hope this helps a bit. Regards Daz/DJLFlapper

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I was wandering if there is a web site where I could buy helicopter fuel with the best price? I always use the web to look for the better price in buying things. Yes, I do know I will need to buy at the hobby shop, because I always do. ![]() No, unfortunately, I live in US.

It gets cheaper by the box. I have never bothered to look on the net, it is difficult to get the stuff delivered in the UK in small quantities. A note for DAZ Dicks shop was my local for many years and now I am 300 miles away I still use them mail order. It is rare they are not able to help. Happy landings

Depending on where you are located, you could buy fuel directly from Wildcat Fuels in Nicholasville, Ky. Depending on nitro content, the price is around $11 per gallon (15%).

Fuel Tower Hobbies sells Heli fuel by the gallon in 4 bottle cases. You have to pay an additional $20 Haz-Mat fee to get it delivered, but is still cheaper than buying from a local hobby shop. I just got a 4 bottle(gallons) case of Wildcat Heli-Mix, 20% nitro/ 18% oil. With all the shipping charges, it figured out to around $25 a gallon. My local hobby shop is up to over $11 a quart for the R/C car/truck fuel, and doesn't carry the heli-mix. They don't sell heli's, so I can't expect them to get it in. ![]()
