Smile Thunder Tiger silencer

I have a thunder Tiger 39 H engine and it seems very noisy, checked the standard silencer and there is'nt a baffle fitted like the Irvine silencer, has someone removed it or is this normal ? Thanks
Peter

Re: Thunder Tiger silencer

Hi Peter,

Let me tell you that the Thunder Tiger is a pretty loud engine. I have one and it’s an earful
when it’s up in the air. I’ve tried the tuned and the regular muffler on the TT39 but I hear
no difference between the two types. If I was you, I wouldn’t alter with the internals of the
muffler unless you are willing to buy a new one.

One reason that the engine is so loud is that it’s a very small engine so it has to work
pretty hard to keep the blades moving. In the future, if you decide to move to a bigger
size RC helicopter you will notice that the bigger the engine is the quieter it is.
