Raptor V2 Engine Problem. HELP!!

I have had my Raptor V2 for 3 weeks now and have just gone through 5 litres of fuel. Then all of a sudden my helli shook and slowly came down.. Now it has NO POWER to lift off. I changed the fuel lines and Im still running the same fuel. I changedthe glow plug twice. It was running perfect but now the motor is harder to start and revs but when it comes to lift off the motor just slows down. Please help me...

hi tony

first a few questions
1-what fuel do you use
2-what plug
if these are o.k it might be your engine just being to rich
usualy after a gallon you have to start leaning it out a little
if you engine sputers while reving up and you see fuel comming from the muffler you need to close the low speed needle a little
start only by turning it clockwise 1/8 of a turn till it reacts nicely
then you have to see a nice trail of smoke as you fly if you don`t
land and richen the engine by going counter clockwise.
the low speed needle is where the trhotle arm is ,it`s that flat head screw you see.factory setting si about 3 turns open on the tt 39 this should be done with throtle completly closed.

now reading this also could be that your engine is running hot
touch it when it lands and if it`s realy hot than you need to richen the engine.a good way to figure this out is ,they usualy are hard to start hot let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes after it quits
and if it starts easaly then this could be the prob.a good place to start is 3 turns on low and 2 turns open on high.
now there may be other things like throtle curve pich curve be if it was o.k before it shouldn`t be this .
the shaking is hummmm just recheck everything motor mount all screws and bolts ,you can also flush the carb with fuel if you don`t have a fuel filter it might be cloged.
these are lots of things to look at but let me know how it goes
and we will try to find whats wrong.

The Glow plug is a OS type and it's a number 8.
The fuel is 16% Nitro with a 10% synthetic oil and 8% castor Oil.
I have found out the reason why the Helli shook and came down to earth, it was due to the motor slowing down and it then had a slow rotor speed.

I took the motor out and flushed the carby and motor in Metho. I assembled it and still it would not lift off... Grrrrr.
I did exactly what the manual said and had the needle 3 turns out and it was blowing smoke and running fine for a week. It will start but when it comes time to lift off tye blades just slow down and it starts to shake again... Maybe I have gotten a bad motor.?

hey tony

sorry for beeing slow on response i seem to have a hard time
loging on this site sometimes.
for now i dont think you have a bad motor, however did you change annything on the settings,it sounds like at half stick
where you should have 6 degres of pitch you would have way more than this so your engine would be loaded wich would explain the slowing down just befor liftoff and the shaking.
if you have a pitch gage check your pitch at half stick and make sure you have 6 deg,low stick should be 0 deg to start and full stick you should have 9 or 10 deg.

Re: Raptor V2 Engine Problem. HELP!!

well after having my rapture 30 for a few months , I had to change the piston and ring...I havent flown it for long since I changed it..when i was buying a new engine , the store told me to go wit an OS engine..but I seen that that wasnt enough...I got the advice from a friend and he said to get a nitro mixture of 20 or better..but for the engine..as to what im hearing ,maybe shot..It doent take much to rebuit the pro 39H I did it and Im back in the air....one other thing...I followed the manufaturs pitch and throttle settings and it didnt work for me ...one thing that did was the the throttle lock and played around with the the pitch curve the bird will fly at low RPM`s with high pitch IDEAL for hovering so It worked for me
