| Re: I can't turn off the engine Hi there I know this is an old thread but i have just finished setting up my new 90 se and i had the same problem but with the other end of the throttle range. I could not get it to start with the revs low enough to stop it killing me or the clutch. i could sort out the engine cut either. answer was i had the throttle trim on full and had not noticed the setting on the screen. It cost me a bruise on my ribs where the boom hit me, was starting it on the bench, and a new clutch liner and clutch bell. i have not had it in the air yet and i am stripping it to repair already. lol. hope this helps you. ![]()

| Re: I can't turn off the engine Sorry to hear that, be careful, this 90 machines are really beast. What radio are you using?. I use a Dewalt drill for starting, and I never take it out from the starter shaft until Im sure that the engine revs are ok and the clutch is not engaged, in that way it is easier to keep the blades from turning holding them with the starter shaft. Of course I start the engine when the blade is almost touching the shaft so there is no freeplay for the blade to speed up. |

| Re: I can't turn off the engine Hi I used a drill to start with because the 90 cspec viper kept killing my starters. the problem was the waste fuel oil out of the pipe ran back into the head and flooded it so now it rests on its side after each flight and i store it on the wall of my shed tail down and that keeps it drained. I now I have a dynatron on a pair of 14ah 12 volt batteries wired for 24 volts. and it works well. my other 90se has a sz 91 and its a kitten to start..... the problem i had was not the blades hitting me but the boom spinning round because i had the blades in my left hand and the starter in my right and it was on the bench so their was nothing to stop the boom coming round and hit me in the ribs. oh and i did not have a shirt on, well it was hot, so the boom support bracket got me in the ribs. lol all part of the fun of rc heli s ![]()

| Re: I can't turn off the engine Hi. I replaced my clucth liner for the very first time, and I noticed that the clutch was engaged even with the engine stopped, I removed the engine and bended the "horns" of the clutch towards inside using a Vise and now problem solved, dont know how this work when the engine is actually running... Ill keep you posted. |
