Probs with OS 32 engine

Hi folks, I have a bit of a prob with my os 32 engine on a Caliber 30 heli.
It starts fine with plenty of oil and smoke coming out of muffler, but when I disconnect the glow plug the engine dies. I'Ve no idea where to start, I've leaned out the mixture screw from 2 turns to 1.5 turns to 1 turn with no joy, the engine still cuts out when plug is taken off. the response from radio is good, it revs up fine with plug on. Any help would be a great help.

Cheers...P

Re: Probs with OS 32 engine

Hello Paul,

Sorry for taking a while to notice this.

I had exactly the same problem the other day on my os 50. Solution.. Change the glowplug. Even though I had installed a brand new plug. I can only conclude that the plug was duff. Put the recommended plug in (OS no 8 I think) and see what it does.

Take care... Azzy

Talking Re: Probs with OS 32 engine

hey Azzy, I've changed 3 OS#8 in the heli, but to n avail.
Iwas posting on Run Ryder.com and if its not a glow plug prob, then its most likely that the low end needle, the small screw down the throttle barrell that was set too rich.
What I did was lean it out about a quater of a turn and it seems fine now.
I can run the engine with no glow plug attached.....
