Irvine 36 ABC engine cuts-out

Hello,

I have got a Shuttle Z-TS with an Irvine 36 ABC engine. I have used it before and it has flown fine. Then I didn't use it for about a year and I started it up today and the engine keeps cutting out.

When I keep the glowplug starter on the glowplug I can give it high throttle without it cutting out - but as soon as I take the glowplug starter off the engine will cut out a few seconds later.

Does anyone have any ideas why this? Do you think the engine needs a clean? If so, can someone give me some tips on how to do this - it looks like you have to take the whole heli apart to get the engine out! And if you do, I don't think I would ever get it back together again!!

Thanks.
Marc

hi marc

i would start by changing the plug for a new one, chances are that it's bad and not staying hot wich would explaine why it's o.k
wjen you keep the nicad on.
as for cleaning this should not be necessary a few good runs and it will probably be fine ,you can always spray w-40 in the carb this might help a little

let me know how it goes

steff
