OS 46 AX in a heli? Can anyone tell me why not to put an OS 46 AX airplane engine in an EVO 50? Can a guy just get a heli head for it for better cooling? I already have a like new OS 46AX engine and was just wondering. Does anyone know if the 46 or 50 heli heads will fit the AX series engines? Thanks again for any input.

Re: OS 46 AX in a heli? Hi, the heli engine has a different carb which has a different needle system for better power under load. And the head is bigger. I have the 46FXH in the Raven 50. I would recommend changing the carb as well. You don't want any engine problems in a helicopter at all! Hope this helps, Jim

Re: OS 46 AX in a heli? They used plane engines in the first several years of rc helis...the fuel was for planes too! The Carb system is that little bit different between the two now....helis have higher requirments....or rather becuase of the various loads placed on the engine the mixture has to be that much more consistent. Having said that...go ahead and try it...if you want but beware of possible problems. Rob
