The head is ON!!

I still have bind issues and dont know what do about it. What I need is for the servos to not throw quite so much I think.

but here are some pics none the less.

Re: The head is ON!!

You will need to give some details about your radio system....then maybe someone here can give you some details about how to adjust the servos.

I wouldnt fly it until you sort this out....binding servos can break down..not good for the heli...or yourself.

Re: The head is ON!!

Both the servos 4 in 1, and radio are stock e-flight stuff. the head is binding... well to be more exact, the upper swash plate hits the main shaft at full articulation, thus also causing the ring around the fly bar area to just barely touch the blade grips. I fixed the ring/grip issue with linkage adjustment, but of course if the swah didnt move so much neither would that ring.

adjusting the throw on the servos would be nice if there is a way.

My parts are the following.

E-flight Blade CP
6 Channel CCPM digital proportional radio control system (model E-8)
all 3 servos are E-flite EFLRS75 type
the 4 in 1 is e-flites EFLH1027A 1-4 mixer speed control/gyro system
The motor and tail motor are also both factory/stock parts.

I have my links set to the outside and top of the servo arms. I had to go to the top because of link length.

If I moved them to the inside they would throw less? but they would throw quicker too?

You can see the set up pretty clearly in the pics, but I can take more if nessarry.

Re: The head is ON!!

I just picked one up and cant figure it out. i went to put it on and ran into 2 issues right off the bat. 1) the swashplate link arms hit the anti-rotation bracket. 2) It seems as though the pinion gear will not match the main gear correctly.

I am using blade cp stock frame, 3 hs-55 servos, hdx-300 head, hdx main gear and rotation hub. I am concerned at this point that I will need their frame and have to go belt drive then there is another 100 bucks. I see yours worked kinda. Any hints would be great. I should have just left the heli alone.

Re: The head is ON!!

oh oh the main gear.... this is what I have done but have yet to test it.

On the main shaft there is a small hole at the top, and 3 indents. I set a collor at the upper indent, the one closest to the hole. I slipped my gear in near the motor then droped my shaft in from the top. and locked it all in place.

One would think that the gear would rub on the frame but it dosnt, its damn close though. I tightened the set screws tight tight and that lower collor seems set in place pretty good.

I spooled the heli up on the bench to check for rubbing issues and so far so good.

hope this helps.

Re: The head is ON!!

Alright I figured it out. I got everything on and adjusted. It spools up to about 50% then starts to shake like crazy. I triple checked everything and nothing apears to be off. Blades are new, paddles are even, etc. At 100 percent there is plenty of lift but I didnt let it lift off. Definitely quicker response, but the whole frame flexes when the controls are moved. The head moves almost 1/2" in whichever direction. It doesnt appear to be the shaft, it appears to be actually bending the plastic frame. Any thoughts or similar results?
