Convert tail motor into belt transmission system??

Does anyone know where & if you can convert a heli with a tail motor into a belt transmission system instead? Thanks!

It depends on the heli, but I know helidirect has a conversion kit for the honeybee cp2 which i have. But i don't know if there are any others.

Another question....when you go brushless with a main motor, must you install a brushless tail motor? Also, if you were to install a brushless tail motor, is there anything else you would have to purchase in addition to? Lastly, where/what kind should I be looking for? Thanks!

IMHO a brushless tail would be too much effort (and weight) for little benefit. You'd need to get an ESC for the motor which wouldn't be a simple plug and play job. If you're sticking with tail motors, far better to go the twin tail motor mod route (or diode route) to extend the life of the tail motors.

I too decided to go the HeliDirect belt conversion kit way. Might have cost a bit more but hey, who cares. It gives a very trick looking heli.

Helidirect makes the conversion for the Blade CP/Honeybee CP2... so he's got one of those

BTW, Wykewing, how's the Belt-CP fly?

I'm gonna get that conversion someday, but at the moment I don't have the money to buy a new brushless combo and the kit itself, + tail system and whatever else you need for the kit. Maybe when I get a job though... which may very well be soon (I'm 15)

You're not wrong there

I've got a H'Bee CP2, though with all the mods, I'm not sure it could be called that anymore. I mean, different frame, main gear, CNC head, landing gear, boom, CNC tail assembly plus new blades, gyro, new servos, brushless motor and ESC, I'm struggling to say what's original. Oh, the canopy.
