Question is it possible?

is there such a way to hook up my blade cp to a constant power source that will power the heli, but not damage the control module. I'm not too worried about the motor they are only 10 bucks to replace. I have read about a mod like it, but it was for a custom heli. can anybody answer this question. the problem i am having is that i have no where near enough practice time(who does) with the batteries. any help is appreciated.

Re: is it possible?

Yes it is possible,
You will need to get a conector the same as your battery, You will also need a surge protection socket also you will need a multi power adapter plug. Take off the standard pin connector and test that the lead is putting the correct amount of power out. Also the polarity is correct.
Now you can solder on the battery plug to the wires (make sure that they are done the right way)
When this is done you can then protect the bear wires with insulation tape. and your good to go. JUST MAKE SURE that you plug it into a surge protection socket or adapter and that it is very close to the voltage you require. Not more than +1 volt. If you can't get that close then dont do it.

Cautionary note:
If you do use this meathod, You must remember that you are adding a lot of extra wieght as the heli climbs. This is going to affect the flight control and is going to cause stress to the engine as it is going to have to work harder to give the required lift.
One more thing, Though you can do this to gain extra time in flight, I don't personally recommend it.

For information of those that want a heli that is comparable to a CP heli that is also powered from the mains, (I know I have 2) go to www.snelflight.co.uk
These are exellant heli's to help learning to fly with. They are also great fun for those of us that want to fly around the room on rainy days. Great for Pro's and newbies.

Re: is it possible?

Ok another way to do this is to go to radioshack and get the wall adaptor that has multible volt setings and a roll of speaker wire or somthing like that. you can then extend out the reach from the wall adaptor with the wire. test the voltege at the end of this extended wire the resistance (depending on length of wire) can drop the voltege. put your plug on the end and balance heli for batless flight. this will leave you with similar wait to a nicad pack and hover time galore. fair warning, this will play a roll in how the heli flys. That cord is now pulling at it. so use this as hover training mostly works good for testing after a crash repair or upgraid and geting your set up right on (have batt in for set up it makes a differance). The less trim the better.
