Re: TailBoom Servo Mount For Raptor 30

Hi

Leave your tail servo where it is, A friend of mine lost/crashed 2x Raptors 50 and 60/70 one with the Quick U.K. tail mount and one with the Hobby Taiwan upgrade. The Raptor 50 had 2x crashes at first he thought it was sevo failure. But after speaking to others they found what happens is that the viberation on the servo causes the pot. in the Futaba 9254 servo to go BAD and pack-up, Bye-Bye Heli. .

I fly a TT Raptor 50SE With upgrade Head, but will NOT do the Tail Servo Upgrade...

Best Regards
Andrew Voogt (South Africa).

Re: TailBoom Servo Mount For Raptor 30

I have had a tail boom servo mount on many heli's of mine and I have never had any problem with vibration causeing a dead servo.
In fact, the problem I have seen with some done is that the servo pushrod has been subject to vibration and this is directly responsible for any problems that the servo produced. This is why we have tail rotor pushrod guides, it helps to prevent this happening. Of course if there is this sort of vibration in the tail anyway you should check that your tail blades are ballanced and make sure that all is well with the settup.

If you should want a tail boom mounted servo holder then you can try
WWW.modelhelicopters.co.uk

I use the quick tail boom servo mounts myself with the pushrod and have never had any problems. just mount your servo with the rubber grommets to protect it as you should and all should be ok.

Hello to you. Try heliproz. They are the best.....

Try all you like with your heli setups, but always keep a tight eye on all operation. Pre Flight inspections and post flight inspections. You'll always be flying right.

Have fun.

Re: TailBoom Servo Mount For Raptor 30

THANKS GUYS FOR SOME INPUT I'M THINKING WEATHER IT'S A PIANO WIRE ROD OR A CARBON ONE, I THINK THE TRICK IS IN HOW MANY GUIDES YOU HAVE FOR THE ROD IT DID NOT COME WITH ANY GUIDS,AND I THINK THAT IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES. I THINK THE SET SHOULD COME WITH TWO GUIDES,LIKE THE STOCK ONE FOR THE PIANO WIRE DOES,I THINK INSTALLING IT WIYHOUT ANY GUIDES IS ASKING FOR TROUBLE,AND ALSO LITTLE PIECES OF SOME THIN DOUBLE SIDED TAPE UNDER THE SERVO MOUNTS WOULD ALSO HELP. IF IT KILLS THE SERVO SETUP IN THIS MANNER I THINK THE VIBRATION IS OVERWHELMING AND COMING FROM SOMETHING OUT OF BALANCE,OR MISALIGNMENT IS MY GUESS. HAY ANDREW V IF YOU CAN LET ME KNOW HOW YOUR FRIEND HAD HIS SET UP I WOULD APPRICIATE IT ,DID HE USE ANY GUIDES? AND IF SO HOW MANY? BEFORE I MAKE A MISTAKE!!! AND WHERE CAN I GET SOME GUIDES FOR THE ROD? IF I DO DECIDE TO PUT IT ON!!!! THANK YOU TO ALL THREE OF YOU GUYS FOR RESPONDING IT'S PRICELESS TO ME RIGHT NOW ON MY FIRST BUILD. I'AM ALSO INSTALLING THE EMS LINKAGE SET No.CA5140 IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY TIPS ON THAT SET UP I THANK YOU NOW!! CALIBER 5
