| Re: The biggest muppet ever! Hi again Azzy, now this would make it easier for a newbie like me to have a chance at flying, apart from buying a auto pilot ![]() I will check my old R/C box with bits of aircraft in it, might be a few wheel collets in there, again many thanks, you have put a smile on my face today at least...now all the spare parts have arrived at once, so new servo going in, ball links to be screwed in, feathering shaft to put in (nightmare) & blades to be balanced. | Re: The biggest muppet ever! Hi mate. No Problem, thats why were here to help each other lol. Good luck with your rebuild. Feathering spindle is tricky the first time you do it but after the 4rth it becomes simple lol. Just make sure you dont forget the studlock and dont get it on the bearings . If your ever in the west midlands area come look us up some sunday... You'll usually find me at one of the local fields buzzing a trex about lol. Take care... Azzy ![]()

| Re: The biggest muppet ever! Hiya ![]() Really you should threadlock every screw that thas metal to metal contact and cyno every screw thats metal to plastic. Doesnt apply so much on a small electric but for sure you should be threadlocking the feathering spindle bolts... Good grief think what would happen if it came loose in flight . Also, I dont want to be too alarmist here but the order of the bearings and washers in the blade grips is critical.. Seriously. With the bigger machines if you install the thrust washers the wrong way round, the blade grips can lock up under load. No pitch control very little cyclic control... End of heli.Ive just taken a look at the manual and I see what you mean however, heres my interpretation of the order of stuff.. From the outside... Feathering spindle bolt, Small diameter washer, Bearing (or it might be a thrust washer), washer 5x8x0.1 (27), Small Bearing (there should be a recess in the grip for it), Small Bearing, Step washer 2x3x2 (20), O ring (25) (should be in the recess inside the headblock) Like I say thats my take on it and it might be wrong. The way to test this is to build it up as you think it should be and if the blade grips can move smoothly and easily (the usually drop by the weight of the control arm) then give them a pull outward in the directions the blades will pull them (use a fair tug and keep it on) then try moving the grips.. If they still move smoothly and easily, then its probably right. If it feels rough or it wont move easily the its likely somethings in the wrong place. As far as places to fly goes.. yep, the farmer round here get angry too lol but Im a member of 2 clubs. One is a heli only club that rents a field.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoKkerCeXC8 (if you want to look at our last flyin) The other is a fantastic mixed club that operates at a local airfield and we share the runway with full sized light aircraft... What a buzz Lol.. . http://www.flysga.co.uk/ is you want a looky Good luck with it mate... Azzy

| Re: The biggest muppet ever! Thanks again Azzy, well it must be right, as it was flown by a 3D pilot today who flies a trex 600N, he said tracking was out, 2 turns & that was sorted. Then he gave it some greif in the air & wanted to buy it off me...so of course I now want a trex 600E ![]() I like the first video you gave a link to, good music, glad you guys like a bit of trance/dance...far better than that bloody airwolf theme tune ![]() Will check out the other when I have finished watching this one. | Re: The biggest muppet ever! Cool, Glad it flies right ![]() The trex 600E is a nice machine but not exactly something you can fly in your back yard lol. Im sure the bug will bite hard soon and you'll have an etrex before you know it. The airwolf tune just doesnt work with helis Helis doing 3D lol, glad you like the video though .Take care... Azzy
