I just received some replacement parts for my RC Exceed Heli. While setting the main rotor pitch I observe the motor got very hot and stopped working. I've since ordered a new motor, but I'd like to please find out what caused it, so that I won't burn the new one. This Heli lifted off the ground and crashed the first time I tried to fly it. Up to now I haven't had the thrill of flying this thing. ![]()

Re: Main motor burnt Notice that your original Exceed motor has a yellow label on it. Look closely and you can see that the label covers one of the slots in the motor body that allows airflow to cool the motor. The replacement motors don't have this problem, since the labels are shorter and are positioned more carefully, so as to not obscure the cooling slot.

Re: Main motor burnt AZHeli, I just checked and you're exceedingly right. You've put my mind at ease. Thank you very much. I've already ordered a motor, but I'm thinking about purchasing one of those brush-less motors. Do I have to get more parts to go with it. I believe I saw a speed controller. Are they easy to install for a newbie like me. Are they more reliable? Thanks in advance.
