Cool Walkera 60B

Hi Folks,

As I know that there are more Walkera 60B flyers in here, I would like to share with you how my last few months have been!

First of all I bought my Helicopter last August. So quit a while ago. Unfortunately I thought it was EASY to fly a RC Heli. Well, it cost me a lot of money to realise it was not that easy at all!

First day I connected the battery the I got the helicopter off the ground, wacked it up to about 30 meters in the sky until it started to tilt forwards. It flew right towards a few football playing kids. As I didn’t want to hit the kids, I wacked the throttle up to 100%. As a reaction of course the Helicopter shot as a rocket up in the sky. I turned it around for 180deg and it flew straight above us. I thought it was the best to get it down, but as I did in a reaction, I cut down the throttle to 0% and it crashed. This all happened in about 35 seconds! I was stunned. I was full of adrenaline, full of happiness that I saw my helicopter flying. But as soon as I approached my RC heli, the happiness started to disappear and made room for sadness (and an empty wallet). The tail was bent over 70deg, the blades broke, the engine broke, the battery was leaking, the skids broke (and bent). So all together not a good start!

Three weeks later I tried again to fly the Heli, this time at a empty squash court. Again, after rolling over to much it the blades hit the ground again. Result, another big repair…

Now a days I’m still practising the flying in the squash court. But, instead of trying to do fancy tricks I’m practising step by step. I’m now (FINALLY) able to hover the Helicopter from one squash court over the wall to the other squash court. So I’m very proud at myself for doing that. Lol

Anyway, one important thing I learned in the last few weeks is that helicopter flying is not that easy compared to flying a plane. Not at all actually! I really admire the guys who do 3D flying with RC heli’s! I can’t see myself doing that at the uni football pitch! Lol

So good luck with Flying, and don’t get cocky! Saves you loads of money! lol
