Backward drift

Newbie here with a question.

What could be the cause of backward drift. Each time I try to hover the bird drifts backwards. I have used to trip to try and bring it back to stable hover.

Re: Backward drift

Check your center of balance. When balancing by the flybar, the heli should be level fore and aft. Make sure the swashplate is level. Check this with the motors unplugged, the Tx on and the servos energized.

Beyond that, use the trim tabs on the Tx to correct for drift.

Also keep in mind it doesn't take much external force to cause a CX to drift. An open window, a ceiling fan, an AC vent will all affect the way these little helis fly.
