Hawk Sport ( No Lift)

I JUST PURCHASED A CENTURY HAWK SPORT AND AFTER ASSEMBLY I TOOK IT OUT FOR A SPIN,BUT AT HALF THROTTLE IT WON,T LIFT OFF THE GROUND.
THIS IS MY SECOND HELI, I SET THE FIRST ONE UP AND HAD NO PROBLEMS.
THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT WRONG WASHER POSITION IN THE FEATHER SHAFT,BUT I TOOK THAT ALL APART AND ALL THE WASHERS ARE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE.
I SET IT UP -3 AT LOW STICK,+6 HOVER AND +10 AT FULL THROTTLE.ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
I DID HAVE A HARD WRECK WITH MY NEXUS,SPLIT THE FRAME IN HALF AND PRETTY MUCH TOTALED IT
I REUSED ALL THE SERVO,S AND RECEIVER AND ENGINE AND BATTERY, ICHECKED THEM ALL OUT AND DON,T SEE ANY PROBLEMS
THANK,S
RICH L.

I had the same problem with a JR Venture today. I'm using the same collective pitch settings as you. If you are seeing a lot of exhaust smoke the engine is running rich (will bog or throttle responds poorly, lack power), and if you are seeing almost no exhaust smoke the engine is running lean. Check the engine instructions to make sure the fuel mixture is right. I'm using a OS 32 engine, the instructions say open the needle valve 1 1/2 turns from fully closed, and to adjust the mixture from that point in 3 degree increments. Hope this helps you some.

Re: Hawk Sport ( No Lift)

I noticed with my hawk, that if I don't use 35% fuel it takes almost 3/4 throttle to hover...Just a thought.
