| First flight+wind=new parts ha ha!!!! Yeah, so I wrecked. a couple times. first couple ditches with the BCP were easy, no harm done. but at some point I bent the flybar slightly and broke the little stick that holds things aligned on the lower half of the swash plate, sorry I dont know what the stick is called. I didnt realise that it was broke so my final flight the heli really really wanted to maintain a left hand turn... soooo... I ordered up new parts and should be flying again soon. There was 5 mph breeze blowing and as a total newb I noticed it alot. so lesson one... dont bite off more then you can chew lesson two... keep it low and slow lesson three... check EVERYTHING after even a mild wreck ha ha all in all though it was nice to get off the sim and into the air for real!! | Re: First flight+wind=new parts Hi mike Sorry to hear that the first up and away was so troubled. To be honest you would be better off getting used to the heli in a nill wind situation. When you are then used to the heli and the way it flys you can then start to fly in a small breeze. Still by the sounds of it you did just fine all things conciderd. Well done Hope your back and ready for more soon, but get more simulator time in, in the mean time try adding wind in the sim. you really should be able to fly with wind on in the sim before you attempt it outside.

| Re: First flight+wind=new parts When ordering new parts: Buy two of everything if your budget allows...pays to keep a stockpile of parts in this game. Welcome to the hobby....its a magic feeling doing that first flight...dont get put off....just take it real easy....and dont push your skills too far....when you get comfy then push your skill...but a little bit at a time ![]() Rob |

| Re: First flight+wind=new parts I ordered up 2 sets of main blades and 2 fly bars. I also ordered a aluminum head assembly ha ha.. I may have bent my main shaft a wee bit too. I cant see it but if I run the helo with just the mainshaft there is some vibration and I can see the shaft is off just a hair (less then 1/32") probably in the.001 scale, but its enough to cause vibration. soooo I have to order one of those too I think. The ditch into the boat behind the barn really took its tole. but it was fun and the parts are cheep. Thanks for the encouragement guys!!!! mike |

| Re: First flight+wind=new parts Dont feel bad it happened to me too. I was out flying in a slight wind and the heli seemed to want to wander all over the place. I felt like I could just not control it. A few times it got away from me, and I had to set it down. Sorry to hear about your mishap. But keep it up. You will get it. |
