Blade CP

Hi, just thought Id share my experiences on the Blade CP in my first 2 days.

First flight was actually pretty easy after some simulator time. The wooden blades scratch pretty easy though. They would have been completely ruined by the third liftoff if not for them folding back. Anyways I know nothin ineresting in that, except for when I accidentally went inverted and slammed into the stones, luckily the blades folded back and no damage done.

Tonight, I decided to show it off for the whole family since it was my "Christmas Present" from my grandparents. It's completely dark here, so I was forced fly inside. The worst part(in the first charge anyways) is that my little cousin was being stupid and almost got hit several times, well and I almost hit myself with the tail, in a spot I really dont want to get hit. Anyways let it rest for 10 minutes and put my 800Mah 2 cell Li-po in. Amazing how much difference there is with a lighter weight battery. After I finally got control of it, I set the heli down, I made one of a few mistakes within a minute or so. 1st mistake, I set the controller down behind me. 2nd mistake I sat down on the conrollter slamming the throttle stick foward, and hit my hand on the blades. Well I cut the throttle in time to not hit the ceiling, but my grandma has some of those fake flowers sitting out, and I couldnt stop the Helicopters momentum fast enough to avoid cutting them to shreds. Ok 3rd mistake I took it outside. Definetly wasnt ready for the wind at night(dunno why but I cant react very fast at night). Well you can imagine what happens when the heli tips on cement. THe blades arent TOO bad, mainly just scraped all of the plastic off. Anyways thats my first flight stories with my Blade CP. Believe it or not I can actually hover rock solid usually. Cant wait to get my century Swift running maybe this weekend.

Re: Blade CP

You'll love the swift, just make sure your well back from it when you spin up, or fly cos if the blades on that hit your hand you'll wind up in hospital getting stiches or worse. Try you get yourself into a flying routine where you do things methodically and make a mental checklist of things and go through it every time. It reduces the chance of horrible things happening. If its any help, this is what I check before flying my sceadu.

Good luck with the Swift Azzy

Re: Blade CP

Ok just another thing to add to my Blade CP experiences. NEVER switch to idle up with no past experience with it, especially to just try normal flight. I tried this, got into a little trouble as far as maneuvering, and cut to zero... Not good at all, I actually completely flipped one of the blades over, talk about extreme negative pitch Anyways, just a warning to anybody more newbish than me.

Re: Blade CP

New-Heli-Pilot, I just read that for the first time, Hilarious. I didn't look at the date, but I was thinking man, he sure has been posting alot to only be learning to hover now, then I saw that it was posted in November. Anyways still hilarious. I especially liked the idleup part. Anyways, glad someone posted on this old thread so that i could read it.
