Hello all

Hello all. I've only just started with r/c helis, but I'm already hooked. It's very challenging, but thats what I like about it. I have flown r/c planes before, but helis are a lot more difficult--and fun! I have an E-flite Blade CX, but it always drifts into a left yaw. I hoping its only the counter-rotating force exerted from the spinning of the main rotors, like everyone says it is. So far, I am able to balance in on the ground, and I'm working on hovering. I tried using the training set, but I find it easier to work with without them. I hope I'm welcomed here. Thank you.

Re: Hello all

Welcome...this is one great hobby....with patience and attention to detail...and an open mind you will have fun and find this a rewarding hobby.

I fly fixed wing planes....and enjoy it....but helis are totally different....and despite all the bad storys they are not hard to look after....and flying takes practice...thats all.

I dont know about your heli.....but if it has a main rotor...and tail rotor....and the tail rotor is mounted on the right side??? the heli would then try moving sideways....because the tail rotor is blowing it that way.....if the gyro is doing its job....the heli will still move sideways.....the only way to combat this is to hover...slightly to the opposite side....ie you have to 'lean' the heli the opposite way.....only then will the heli stay in one place.....hope this helps.

Re: Hello all

My cx pulls to one side as well. Once you get up about 6 inches and get away from the ground affect it will level a bit. I also removed the training gear. If you cut the thl before impact you will have limited expenses! Good Luck Have fun.

Re: Hello all

Hey Flyboy,

Im pretty sure the blade CX is the same as my (and yours hawkman) B47 twister. They do tend to yaw and the ammount and direction changes depending on the charge of the battery. Unfortunately there isnt anything you can do about it other than learn to manage it. Once you progress into bigger helis with head hold gyros, you wont have to worry about yaw but you'll have developed a useful instinct by then.

Hope this helps a bit.... Azzy
