Re: first flight

Based on my crashy experience, I'd suggest getting REAL comfortable hovering low with the nose in any direction before doing anything else.

Re: first flight

I started flying forward flight and not crashing at all (( so far )) after learning too hover tail in,, doing 360 * tail in hover. And using RealFlight G-2. I had hovered a total of 6.5 hr. of flight time.... And used RealFlight about the same amount of time.. I now have 23 minutes of forward flight. I wouldn't even think about nose in hovering until your good at flying up high.... After doing 360* tail in hover you should be able to turn your body to land into the wind tail in just like you do when hovering!! And it's a lot more FUN!!!!! You don't even need to learn nose in hover for forward flight many say!! Some say to try and learn nose in hover (( up high two mistake high )) you won't break any thing that way... That's how I am going to do it anyways !!

This is from another post ,, on how I setup Sim...
FMS is not very real !!! I have used it and now use Real Flight G-2 .
Real Flight G-2 is much better but still I had to do a lot of setting changes to all helicopter's in G-2,,, to make them closer to real thing... With default setting on all helicopter's in G-2 they are not even close to the real thing!!!
(( I fly a Honey Bee Cp2 and they are very lite ))
Fms is only good for teaching you what stick's do what!!! And that's it...
One of the setting in real flight that need changing is ( time multiplier ) you need to speed it up from 100 to 150 * that will make reaction time feel more real to flying RC helicopter's.
Also go into ( weather ) to change wind setting from none to say 5 mph. wind and change direction of wind to + or - 10 * then change gust setting bar from smooth to one click to the right...

Re: first flight

I'm trying to step gently... moveing left/right farther/closer while holding the heading to the left/right/nose-in. Sometimes I get flustered and have to aim it nose-out to get it organized. When I feel real good about moving in any direction while heading in any direction I'll bite into something more terrorizing.
