Re: first flight

Trimming out the Helli should be done as close as possible during the mechanical setup using your instructions. Servo arms and linkage as close to 90 degrees as possible, swash plates level. Trim sliders on radio should be to centered. On nitro chops the throttle trim(closed) is used to kill engine.( other methods available on computer radios). Hemi is correct. When the chop lifts off the ground you want it to stay in the same area as long as possible. In a well trimmed chop that may be 10 seconds. You don't want it drifting hard in one direction where you the have to fight the stick bringing it back. If it drifts hard to the right then slide the trim to the left till it stops the drift. If you set it up the mechanics correctly it wont be to much to get it stable. Large planes have trim wheels. If the nose drops, the pilot turns the wheel back until trimmed, and he can take his hands off. Most important is mechanical set up being right. Remember, chopper flying is constantly correcting the drift of the bird. Perfect trim, means one spot, hands free.

I just want to say : It’s hard to control Helix the way that you want to go.
It doesn’t like fixed wing plane that so easy to control it.
Till now let me spend a lot of money on it.
That does really need spend time and money to play it.
One thing. Keep playing.

Re: first flight

I ****!!
This sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before! As an expert Fixed wing pilot I find that the transition to rotary wing flight is problematic at best. Fixed wing:Pull back on the stick you go up.
Rotary wing: Pull back on the stick and you go down FAST!! I will PREVAIL!!

Re: first flight

RC Helicopter is really good fun.
When you get it to control in hand any way you want to go.
It is let me forget and give up golf.
It’s cheaper then golf. (After you practice enough...)

Re: first flight

Most people have problems transposing the controls, the way I remember it is "Always prop up the dropping blade", so if it's comming towards you & it dips over towards your left, push the aileron control over to the left, prop up that dropping blade. As for nose in, how about slowly hovering about & forward flight, it seems easier to pick up which way the sticks should be going from forward flight (from my fixed wing days)..it will come to you.

Regards
Ross
