walkera dragonfly 35

hello
i have been saving hard mowing lawns and earning weekly pocket money (that i dont want to waste on a peice of crap)

so what do you people think of the walkera 35 CP helicopter
Am i reding properly i get the free lipolymer battery with charger
(6ch,3D cappable,no tail motor) comes with everything i need?RTF?
is this a good heli for learner?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/35-6CH-GYRO-3...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for anyone who read this and anyone who replys

P.S Im am interested in this heli for its size and when I have learned the basics i can move onto 3D flying on the same helicopter without the fuss of buying a new one and replacing parts

Re: walkera dragonfly 35

how much do you have? this heli can be fine you just need to go over every screw, servo, gear, blade, pla...., ....tor head with a fine toothed comb. then once every thing is in order it sould fly fine. once you get past that and have enough to upgrade it get servo's/gyro FIRST, belt drive SECOND, brushless motor, better controller, and main board and go from there.

as for a begginer heli this would work fine (if your good at adjusting things (it's also pretty cheap)) because if you don't like heli's you're not out too much, but if you have enough try to go for the more expensive ones as they're better.

The best training heli's are the .30-.50 size as they're the most stable. then then next best is the TRex. don't be too discouraged to buy it but remember you DO take a risk buying one of these things.

so, find one from the most positive seller. please keep looking, as there are better deals out there. you see the shipping, plus cost, is over $200.00 you should be able to find one for under $180.00 with s/h included.

Re: walkera dragonfly 35

if you want something cheaper to buy, heh, you won't find any thing that most people call "quality" im pretty sure that this can run in non 3D mode and 3D.... so if you want something better well hmm.... the best thing you MIGHT find would be a shogun or a ZOOM but since the're all the same (interchangeable parts) go for the 35 or the 36 if you can find them with a belt drive. if you get that i'm sure you will be pretty happy with it. as long as something doesn't come defective you should be fine.

If you can't get that, get the 35 anyways, you should be fine as long as you spool down the throttle slowly as to not destroy the tail gears. (that's why you want to get the belt drive.

Re: walkera dragonfly 35

ok when you get a heli ANY heli you have to check for mistakes, loose screws, improperly set up servo's ect. after you get through the screw and make sure the servos work check these-
PRE-FIRSTFLIGHT CHECK LIST

PROPULSION
1. check and make sure the blades are balanced
2. check the rods connecting to the blades for damage and straightness
3. Blades should be at the same pitch (1-2 degrees)
4. check the gear mesh between the motor. the mesh should allow a slip of paper to go through, but, come out accordian style
5. make sure the rotor blades are on correctly and work well

STEERING
1. make sure the swash is on right and moves well
2. make sure the control rods for the rear/swash are set at neutral and are undamaged
3. make sure the servos work properly
4. check the steering rods on the swash for damage/odditys
5. check for any dents, damage, or anominallys that could cause problems

ELECTRONICS
1. make sure the batterys in your controller are fresh
2. make sure the controller works well.
3. check and make sure the gyro isn't countering the wrong way as this will cause problems
4. check all connections for absolute integerity, and make sure they are plugged in all the way

BATTERY
1. if you have a li-po batt they regularly come charged so don't charge them
2. if the battery is swollen send it back as if you use it, it might explode
3. never let the cells (each) get below 3 volts, if it does throw it away it is usless now

if all checks out go fly! (learn to hover first...ect.)

as for if i have a heli well um, er, ah, no, I don't but will be getting one (a 35)
after my vacation at the beach which ends the 28th, but I won't order till the 29th. I can't wait...*waits*
so i hope it all works out for you
but if you get anything GET MORE BLADES AND TAIL GEARS!!! I can promise you you're going to need them.

i hope you enjoy your vacation
and i get a helicopter soon
i will be ordering one in 2-3 days(i hope) and get some good movies to send to you from my dads digital camera

Re: walkera dragonfly 35

To test the blades you're supposed to just start spinning the blades and make sure they look the same as they spin (fast) but there's got to be a better way...somehow....

Also i did have a great vacation and am waiting for the money to come (it's coming the 29th (i hope)) i hope it works for you!
