Cool Upgrade my Venture 50?

i have a Stinger 50 and a Standard Venture 50.
The only changes so far that i have done to the Venture 50 is replace the paddles with the supplied '3D' ones in the heli kit and a K & S LSD clutch for the tail.
i am using SAB 600 blades but find the heli EXTREMELY unstable whilst inverted hover.
i can hover my Stinger inverted at 2-3 feet no problem and its fairly stable but the venture 'appears' to be wildly tail heavy during inverted hover and is very hard to maintain postion in both roll and pitch.
it flies beautifully in normal hover but is a 'dog' upsidedown.
any suggestions??
i surely should not need big $$$ upgrades just to simply hover belly up.?

Re: Upgrade my Venture 50?

My venture is same way only thing i can figure is it is tail heavy so u increase foward cyclic to cancel then it hovers nice....so when you flip to invert the forward you put in to cancel the tail heavy is working against you ie the trim wants to push nose up inverted...only thing i can think of is to better balance the heli then reset trims....i haven't done this as i am just getting to 3d

Re: Upgrade my Venture 50?

How u going Aksal?? I would definately be putting stiffer dampners on,,K&S do a great set for a few bucks,,also what size battery pack are you running IE AA's or Sub C's,,i found that with AA's the bird is way too tail heavy,,i run a 4400mah sub c pack that fits superb in the the battery compartment with 2mm foam around it and balances out extremely well and have all sub trims set at zero with half a tank of fuel.Throttle and pitch curves kneed minor adjustments to compensate for the extra weight so make sure your head speed is good thru all idle up positions before mowing the lawn

Re: Upgrade my Venture 50?

Thanks heaps for the feed back..
i have since put very STIFF dampers in the head with now awesome results. makes a hell of a difference and its hard to understand exactly why they are so soft in the first place..
ANYWAY! its a different heli now and perfroms lovely in any attitude now.
a little more negitive pitch would be good now whilst retaining 15+ for autos but apart from that its great!.

Re: Upgrade my Venture 50?

Good to know she acts how u want it too mate..half the reason JR supply soft ones is to be less intimidating for novice flyers (plus they can get a sale for upgrade 3D parts).
Good luck with it and lets keep the venture going by its namesake cause they truelly can be a "VENTURE"
