Re: What Hirobo do I have? Well no...I would seriously suggest getting a more modern Shuttle...in the UK these retail for about £150 sterling...you can get the whole deal for about £400 or so...not sure what this would be in US dollars but I would expect a modern computer radio...heck you may as well get a 2.4 ghz set like a DX7...search around....you should be able to find an all in one deal. The Blade would be ok but if you are considering running the old Hirobo you might as well get into the nitro side of things...I started this way...provided you got a good simulator to learn on you will get a good start....and if you have the patience thats required to set up a heli...not that hard...then go for it. I dont know about parts for the old Heli you have...it just would be a shame to wreck it while learning to fly. I like that alloy frame...looks really smart. I fly a Predator gasser 231 which has alloy frames...looks really smart. Rob

Re: What Hirobo do I have? Thanks for the help hawkman. I know what your talking about not wanting this thing to get crashed. I would hate to see it get trashed also. But you have to start someplace. If i can get this thing into the air it wont be untill I feel I can fly it without crashing it.. Someone on another forum has a picture posted of a falcon 707. This looks to be something like that also. I'm finding out that this thing is older than i Thought it was.. Anyone else have any ideas... Let me know if you can please. Thanks.

Re: What Hirobo do I have? Probably from the mid 80's...I was watching a clip the other night on YouTube of a GMP Cricket...this heli was quite small and had fixed pitch...no collective in those days! well not for that particular design...I am sure it got upgraded. Go the simulator route...this will give you a good foundation...theres no urgent reason to crash a model heli...I was about 10 mnths using a sim...a very basic one at that...until I had enough cash to buy my first heli...I bought a good radio at the same time...wanted it to last. I was hovering the real model and after 5 minutes was off around the field...nice and carefully. I was hooked! Rob

Re: What Hirobo do I have? Nice, i had an old Shuttle. it even had the mechanical speed controller yet the heli looked almost identical to a newer one and i think it was around the 80's, main difference was tail brades were on opposite side of boom and had rocker and pushrod to control collective instead of the long arm the newer ones have. crashed it once and couldnt find parts for it. happened to be offered another shuttle of same era buy a ebay bidder that saw i won it. fixed it up, test flew it then sold it. i was surprised the mechanical gyro stilled worked but didnt wanna rish crashing it again since i spent a bit of money by that stage.
