| Re: helicopter spinning Righty.....hmmm. The heli was ok prior to the harsh landing? if was ok then check the gyro...to do this you want to switch on but DONT start the engine. put the rudder stick right...the trailing edges of the tail blades should go right put the rudder stick left...the trailing edges should go left now check the gyro....is it secure? DO NOT secure the gyro with rubber bands...use the sticky foam pad provided....its enough to do the job. check the gyro function.....turn the heli right...the trailing edges of the tail rotor should go left....and vice versa.....if its opposite then reverse the gyro....this might be a simple switch or the gyro might need to be stuck upside down....check your instructions. do your checks from behind the heli.....ie view the tail rotor from behind. check your tail rotor linkage...has it slipped? recheck this and observe where the servo horn should be.....it should be central and the tail rotor will have some degree of pitch....this is to counteract the torque produced when the rotors are turning. Be very patient when you do your checking......dont rush and never assume things.....otherwise your heli will have a short life....if you are learning then the last thing you want is a heli which is turning around and facing you.....this is a potentially nasty situation to get into. last but not least....read up on your gyo instructions...and check your transmitter instructions....its very easy to be in the wrong 'mode'. tell us what gyro and radio you are using. | Re: helicopter spinning cheers for that rob, iam using futaba ff 7 and a piezo 3 gyro (i thought it might be this so bought another one but its the same) i thought i may have left my tx on simulator mode but ive checked and it is supposed to be on pcm which it is. cheers |

| Re: helicopter spinning what I meant by 'mode' is that you can set the gyro to 'norm' when it might need to be 'GY' for heading hold.....norm is probably meant for the older style of gyro....I could be wrong. Check everything else I mentioned before. Rob |
