Re: helimax rotofly Sounds to me like you need to increase the gyro gain and trim out the radio the gain is the little screw pot on the side of the receiver module on the heli and the trim adjustments are the switches on the side and bottom of the sticks on the radio.I cannot tell you how much you need to do it is trial and error type thing you just have to try it.I had a Rotofly for about two weeks and got tired of messing with it I then purchased a Trex 450x and had much better luck with it.There is no such thing as flys right out of the box I have had to mess with every RTF I have ever had to get it to fly properly and there are a few.Just make small adjustments and remember what you did incase you have to undo it and do one adjustment at a time I would start with the gyro because that is the most important then work on trimming out the radio.

Re: helimax rotofly I don't remember it has been so long since I had mine I would check the owners manual and look at the screw to see if there is some sort of marking on the case indicating increase and decrease sorry but I just do not remember.

Re: helimax rotofly Try increasing the gain on the T/R mix pot on the esc it is in the same place as the gyro gain. This might give you more control on the pitch and roll adjustments on the rx and should help in trimming out the heli. You picked the hardest heli to try and learn with not only is it small but it has no weight to speak of which makes it harder to control. What I would suggest is stop playing around with those little fixed pitch heli's and get a good 30 or 50 size nitro to learn on it is much more stable and has much more weight so it is easy to control and to learn with.I tried fixed pitch for about a week and got rid of it and went to collective pitch but I would not even say to follow what I did because instead of going right to nitro I spent time on electrics and wasted time learning those when it would have been better spent with nitro. I would say either a Thunder Tiger Raptor or a Hirobo Sceadu Evo or if you really want a good heli a Hirobo Freya that is what I have the SST-Eagle Freya 60 now a 60 might be a little more than you want to tackle right now but it is a great bird.Although I would suggest forget a 30 size and start at a 50 size because you will grow out of the 30 and want more and starting with a 50 is best. Now remember that you also will need a better radio to go with this heli the one you have will not cut it.I would ask around where you live and see what every one else is flying and see if you can get some help from experienced pilots look here to see if some one is close and e-mail them and ask advise from them check here http://www.geocities.com/cj_higdon/locator/connecti.htm Well I will let you mull over what I said and think hard about it because it is a big investment,if I can be of further help let me know. ![]() Last edited by moe3754 : 07-02-2005 at 08:27 PM.
