| Heli-Max Beginer. Hello there, i am glad i found this site, looks pretty slick and lots of information on here, i first want to say i am new to Heli's but not new to R/c scene, i have had TONS and tons of r/c cars gas and electric, so im not tooo new :P I am new to Heli's so i am looking to buy a Heli-Max kit they are 199$ Canadian, so i thought i would buy this one to get the feel of r/c heli's to start off. One reason is because it is cheap and looks simple to use, and good for first time flyer. Can any one coment on this product or recommend me a better one ? I don't mind spending money on something decent however for my first one i don't see my self needing a 1000$ heli, i do play to learn this one and upgrade to something way better and stuff, maybe nitro or electric. As i have been reading it looks like brush less motors and better batteries will bea nice machine to build up later on. Thoughts suggestions ? BTW, hi and hope to meet new members ![]() p.s here is the link to the product i am looking at. http://www.helimax-rc.com/helis/hmxe04-index.html |

| Re: Heli-Max Beginer. Hi there, Welcome to the forum ![]() I took a look at the machine your considering, it seems ok but I would try if at all possible to get something that doesnt have an independant motor driven tail (shaft or belt is much better) you might want to spend a few dollars more and get something known like a Honey Bee King 2 or maybe even a Blade 400 3D which seems to be fantastic value at the moment. HB King 2 http://www.heliguy.com/Electric-RC-H...-2/Main-Group/ Blade... http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/n...roduct_id=2177 One thing Id recommed you get is a decent simulator (such as realfight or reflex) because It will save you money in the long term. Model helis are amazing squrily things to learn to fly and although Im sure you'll learn it fast through your car experience, they can be incredibly unforgiving machines and if you make a mistake with a heli they dont self correct and you wont get much time to put it right. Good luck, Im sure you'll be as addicted as the rest of us shortly ... Azzy
