Hello Skin Art,

I seen your post and I think that you have made a good decision in purchasing the
Raptor 30. The Raptor is a great heli to start with. The Raptor parts are easy to
obtain and most important inexpensive to purchase.

I did notice that you are going to purchase it for $519 from ebay.com but I think
you can get a better deal. I saw the same Raptor for less.

Here is where I saw it.

The company is Rick’s and they are based in Texas. The owner Ron is very
knowledgeable on RC helicopters

Take a look and see for yourself.

As for the radio, look at the JR and the Futaba.

See You At The Field,

Valentine

Thank you for the reply,

that is a huge difference in price compared to the one I had found

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...965306426&rd=1

Could someone please tell me if these 2 heli's are different? Or if one comes with other things that I cannot tell?

Thank You

Chad

Hello Chad,

According to the specs they both are similar. But I did notice that the helicopter from
Rick’s gives you the 49 ball bearings upgrade. The ball bearings will make your moving
parts like the main rotor assembly, run smoother than the standard metal bushings thus
reducing the strain to your servos.

And the good part is that you will be getting the Raptor from a real RC helicopter
hobby shop.

The reason Rick’s is so well priced is that they make minimal profit on each of their
products they make their money by volume.

And I don’t work for them

See you at the field,

Valentine

Thank You Valentine,

Im going to give that company a call and talk with them on the phone and order one

Yes I would deffenatly prefer to have the ball bearing upgrade, im sure not only will it run smoother like you said it will also increase other component life aswell.

Thanx again for you help, its much appreciated.

Hey Valentine,

Since im sure I will be very shaky on my first few flights, what can you recomend for me to put on the heli to help prevent simple tip overs, ive seen some kind of sticks with like holow golf balls on the ends of them, what do you think is best?

Thanx again

Hello Chad,

It’s my opinion that training gears is a MUST. And I think that most experience
RC helicopter pilots will agree. The gears will help the RC helicopter
from easily tipping over. Here is a good brand:

You can get some more information from the above site.

See you at the field,

Re: Help newbie choose radio for raptor 30 :)

just make your own. I used tent poles and ping pong balls. The whole thing cost me about $2. (go to your local campground and ask them if they have saved any old broken tent poles)
