| Raptor or Nexus I`ve cut my teeth on a Nexus 30 learnt to hover forward flight side ways etc, and just getting to grips with nose in hover. My nexus has taken a beaten going through the learning proccess over the last 6 months. My question is do I stick with my Nexus continuing to buy new parts for it or would it be a good option to buy a Raptor 30? Every thing I read is how good and stable they are(and every man and his dog has got one). Living in Scotland as i do it can be a bit windy here and Nexus gets knocked about a bit in the wind, is the raptor a little more stable in the wind (15mph)? If anyone is thinking of learning to fly these great models, go do it !! I`m 40 year old with no flying experience at all and really enjoy it. Its not easy but its NOT IMPOSSIBLE either. |

| Hi, The nexus is a really poor cousin to the Caliber, The Caliber is now enjoying the popularity that was only reserved for the Raptor. These are both priced very similar though they are two completely different machines. They are both very stable in flight and are both well capable of doing some 3D. The Caliber however is a very great deal quieter than the Raptor. As for modifications they can now both be modified to great extent. The raptor is a very good machine, it is well proven. The caliber too is a very good machine, It is still showing itself to be a worthy aponent to the raptor. Which ever you choose you wont regret the choice to move away from the Nexus. The Nexus really did Kyosho no favours in the heli market. MOVE AWAY from it and you'll be a lot happier. TMHO and I own a Nexus too. I chose the Caliber as the way to go. But I tried it first. As for stability in 15 mph winds. Well the bigger the heli the better the stability. Though it does help if your heli handles well to start with. The Raptor 30 will fly better than the Nexus, But it will still get pushed around in the wind some. The Caliber 30 also gets pushed around. The choice is yours, As a rule of thumb look around at what the guys near you fly and go with them if you fancy that heli. At least you will have a good support base near you. good luck I know you wont need it. Point to note the information in the thread suggested below this is out of date with reference to many of the Kyosho Products. Having read it just I would not thinl it that usefull a sorce of information. You in all honesty having asked your questions, Would be better off asking the advice of your local flyers and your local hobby store.
