Re: Which simulator?

Hello:

just bought a Blade CX and already I have busted the Stabilizer flybar hub and holder. So I am going to take a step back and ask some questions.

First, I live in Santa Barbara CA, and I wonder if there is any club or organization out there for newbies like me.
Second, I am interested in a simulator. Is there a specific sim for the Blade series?

I appreciate any comments you might have

Steve

Re: Which simulator?

FMS is not very real !!! I have used it and now use Real Flight G-2 .
Real Flight G-2 is much better but still I had to do a lot of setting changes to all helicopter's in G-2,,, to make them closer to real thing... With default setting on all helicopter's in G-2 they are not even close to the real thing!!!
(( I fly a Honey Bee Cp2 and they are very lite ))
Fms is only good for teaching you what stick's do what!!! And that's it...
One of the setting in real flight that need changing is ( time multiplier ) you need to speed it up from 100 to 150 * that will make reaction time feel more real to flying RC helicopter's.
Also go into ( weather ) to change wind setting from none to say 5 mph. wind and change direction of wind to + or - 10 * then change gust setting bar from smooth to one click to the right...There are more adjustments you can make to G 2.
But first you have to make a copy of the helicopter your using in G2. If I were you I would use the Impala 30 with training gear..Do you know how? Just pull up the helicopter your using,,, down near the bottom there should be a button that says copy..... Hit it and then name your copy of helicopter what ever you want,,
After making a copy of helicopter you can make a lot of changes ... I'm not at my computer that has G2 on it right now so this might not be just right. Hit the button that says (( Edit )) Go to (( engine )) page down to (( Atitributes )) then go to (( Torque Curve )) change from engine with tuned pipe to one with just muffler..
Now you can make some more changes ... One thing a blade cp doesn't have is a heading hold gyro.
Go to gyro tab at the top of window. Open it,,, then change gyro setting to (( Piezo Gyro)) no heading hold,, I think it's the top one I use... Next go to Fuselage page,,, then go to Fuselage Weight ,,, change weight of helicopter to about 3 1/2 lbs. Don't go any lower then this even tho Blade is only about 11 oz. G2 will not work with less then 3.5 lbs!! Let me know how it works for you.

Re: Which simulator?

Hi Guys,
Newbie here ,
I would highly recomend Reflex XTR if you want as real an experience as possible on a PC.
The scenery is 360 degree photo realistic, extra models are freely available on the web so currently I have over 50 chopper models and almost double that for planes and 75 locations (some not so good)!
Weather and model perameters can be easily changed the only downside is the price.

Anyway have a look:

and the photo section:

Best investment you could make to save mega bucks for crash kits

It’s worth every penny...sorry Cent and does exactly what it says on the tin recommended 10/10.
I have flown my twister straight out of the box because of XTR

The only thing lacking from any sim is the distance perspective, but your reactions controlling a real flying model will be imprinted from time spent on the sim, it's like driving or riding a bike you will not have to think which stick input to use to correct a flying manoeuvre.

Has to be the best software purchase I have made in years, especially when your mates all profuse at being flying guru's, XTR soon sorts the men from the boys ....lol

All potential new wannabe flyboys have to try the XTR before even being considered for a real go.

After years of allsorts of RC tinkering (bikes/cars/boats/planes/more cars/hovercrafts and finally helicopters) I feel that the flight sim then a small electric heli (i have a Twister bell 47 FP) are a safest and ultimately cheapest way of learning how to master flying a copter.

I hope to fly my Raptor in the near future.

Good luck

Re: Which simulator?

Get a Reflex XTR, you want believe the realizm of this thing! Has about 30 helicopters and 60 planes to choose from not counting the different backgrounds that you can choose from and they look so real! It's like your very own private flying field right in your living room!

Re: Which simulator?

the reflex simulator is not a working sim in the demo mode. It is purely to show you what you could be doing and how the reflex looks working.
As for does your walkarer trany work with it! I honestly dont know. The Reflex works with most main brands of radio and I don't know if the walkera 6ch is one of them, I doubt it. (Not being funny)
Does your transmitter have a buddy lead port in it? or a simulator port on it? If it does then go to the reflex XTR web sight and ask them if your transmitter will work with it.

There are other simulators around and I am sure that one will work with your trany. But if you could get the reflex and have it working you wont beleive its realism and feel.
I recently had a mate round to try it and he was shaking after five minutes on it.
